Scorching heat is wreaking havoc in Bihar. In the last 24 hours, 13 people have died in five districts. The highest number of people died in Aurangabad, where five died. Three people each died in Saran and Gaya. One person each died in Rohtas and Bhojpur. Their families claim that due to heat stroke, they started vomiting along with high fever. They were taken to the hospital but their lives could not be saved. Here, the heat was the highest in Buxar. The maximum temperature recorded here was 46 degrees.
According to the Meteorological Department, a heat wave alert was issued on Sunday at some places in Patna, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Nawada, Gaya, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Saran, Siwan districts. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in some places of Saharsa, Madhepura, Supaul, Araria, Purnia, Kishanganj, Katihar districts during a few hours on Sunday and the wind speed is said to be 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. The department has issued an orange alert for the possibility of severe heat wave with heat wave at some places in the south-western part of the state.
There was severe heat in these districts
The districts where temperature was recorded above 40 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours are Patna 43.3, Gaya 45.2, Chapra 42.8, Dehri 45.6, Sheikhpura 44.5, Gopalganj 42.0, Jamui 42.8, Buxar 46.0, Bhojpur 45.2, Aurangabad 45.5, Nawada 44.5, Rajgir 44.6, Jiradei 43.1, Arwal 44.8, Bikramganj 44.5 and Munger 41.4 degrees Celsius, along with Bhagalpur 37.2, Purnia 32.4, Muzaffarpur 36.0, Darbhanga 35.2, Supaul 32.6, Madhubani 34.2, Motihari 36.0, Begusarai 37.2, Banka 38.6, Katihar 32.4, Araria 30.5 and Balmiki Nagar 38.6 degree Celsius were recorded. The Meteorological Department believes that a yellow alert has been issued with the possibility of a hot day on Sunday at one or two places in the north-west, north-central and southern parts of the state.
There will be no change in the weather for 48 hours
During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain was recorded at one or two places in the districts of north-eastern part of the state. While the rest of Bihar remained dry. Severe heat wave was observed in Gaya, Buxar, Bhojpur, Vaishali, Aurangabad, Nawada, Nalanda and Arwal while heat wave was observed in Patna, Saran, Rohtas, Sheikhpura, Gopalganj, Jamui and Munger. The highest maximum temperature of 46 degree Celsius was recorded in Buxar and Bhojpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.5 degree Celsius was recorded in Kishanganj. According to today’s weather analysis, there is no change in the northern limit of Southwest Monsoon. It is still located in Islampur of Sub Himalayan West Bengal. However, during the next four to five days, it is likely to advance further into some parts of Bihar, especially North East Bihar and the districts in the foothills of the Himalayas. The East-West turf line now extends from Central Uttar Pradesh through North West Bihar to Meghalaya at 0.9 km above sea level. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of severe heat wave in the south-west part of Bihar and some parts of south-central Bihar in the next 48 hours. At the same time, heat wave and humid day are forecast in one or two districts of the north-west and south-east. Light to moderate rainfall with thundershowers is forecast in the districts of the north-eastern parts of the state. There is no possibility of any significant change in the day temperature of the state during the next 48 hours.
